Liam Spencer-Smith's Biography

Liam is a successful Guitarist and Vocalist who has spent the last 10 years playing throughout the world in residencies, corporate events and touring. His energetic stage presence and confidant yet laid-back vocals, along with inventive acoustic arrangements set him apart from other guitar-vocalists.

Liam started his musical career in his early teens performing professionally throughout London and the South East of England, this lead to him gaining a scholarship at the 'The Academy of Contemporary Music' (ACM). Liam studied here for 3 years whilst also completing a performing arts diploma at Woking College.

At the age of 18 he joined the band 'Beat Route' a four-piece harmony driven corporate band, which played throughout the UK. At this time Liam also performed solo/duo/trio residencies at venues including 'Pizza express', 'Nova Hotel', 'Penny Hill Park' and other venues in the Southeast. He also would co-ordinate Open Mic nights in the Surrey, Hampshire, and London areas.

Due to Liam's varied success and experience, in 2002 he became a sort after session player recording for Universal and Polydor Records playing with the likes of Mark Rich (Feeder), Pete Friesen (Alice Cooper), Carleen Anderson (Brand New Heavies) to name but a few.

In 2004 Liam joined 'Finger Mouse' a high-energy corporate band that over a 5-year span played at top UK and European venues such as 'Natural History Museum', 'London Aquarium' and 'The NEC Birmingham'. Overseas the band performed at 'Le Farinet' (Verbier - Switzerland), 'Lattitudes Hotel Group'(Les Arcs - France), 'Villa La Gaeta' (Lake Como - Italy). During this time Liam performed for Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, Beatles producer George Martin and appeared on Sky 1, Sky Sports and German TV soap 'Good Times, Bad Times'.

In 2009 Liam completed a 6-month contract in the house band at Europe's top live music venue '7 Seas' in Limassol, Cyprus. From here he went onto perform on board Brittany 'Mini Cruises' as part of Duo and Band 'Talk Back'. Liam continues to complete short-term contracts with Brittany, thus allowing him to work with a number of bands and continue session work in the UK and abroad.
